About
Background
Forever fascinated by light, Milieu was created by the team of filmmakers, creative directors, and designers at Ceremony Studios.
As creators of fashion and sport campaigns for some of the world’s most influential brands, the Milieu team has spent more than 15 years designing sets and spaces that shape atmosphere and feeling. Our production design and worldbuilding span editorial, broadcast advertising, and cinema.
Because of the intensive nature of our work, we found ourselves traveling, working late, and constantly beneath unnatural light, conflicting with our sleep cycles, energy levels, and overall balance.
At home, we were avid users of red light devices, changing the bulbs in our ceilings and lamps, and removing panels from storage for dedicated light therapy sessions. The red light therapy products available were often made of plastic and hurried back to storage after use.
We decided to create red light therapy lighting that deserves a permanent place in the home; pieces of decor to illuminate our environments throughout the day and bring targeted red light into our daily routines.
Connecting your body’s natural rhythms with your home’s atmosphere by living with light.
Milieu
Years of creating campaigns for the world’s most influential brands had created relationships with partners to build from concept to product, and in 2025 we began partnering with manufacturers, engineers, and lighting experts to bring Milieu to market.
A milieu is the social, cultural, or physical environment that surrounds us.
For us, Milieu represents the attention we give to a space and how its elements work together to create feeling.
Engineered for Performance, Designed for Presence
With sunrise, ambient, and red light modes, and a tactile knob to move between them, Lamp 001 brings our fascination with light into everyday life.
A lamp designed to change with your day, and deserving of a permanent place in your home.
